The Racine Yacht Club Youth Foundation
The Foundation was established by members of the RYC and other individuals from the community to provide the opportunity for Racine Area young people to learn how to safely enjoy the many water sports activities available on the lake front and water ways of Racine. The U.S. Sailing’s “STEM” Educational Initiative (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) that will provide the basis for training students thru water sports and related activities to succeed in developing their personal skills including seamanship, safety, citizenship, organization, business, service, environmental awareness and leadership.
The Foundation was organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The instructional program also needs additional boats including Optis, 420s, Lasers, and other models to complete our fleet. These boats will also need dollies/trailers and essential accessories. The students will need life jackets, dry/wet suits and other materials for their use. Funds will also be required for improving our dockage, storage and facilities, as well as for instructors, supervisors and other needed paid labor. Those students involved with competition will need help with all fees and associated costs of housing and travel.
Our Foundation will have programs associated with the Park District, Schools and Special Associations as it expands its scope of operation.
Racine has the greatest beach and Lake Front on Lake Michigan, it deserves to have the best water sports educational and safety program as well. We trust we will have your support as we “Reach Forward”.
Please consider a donation to our Foundation as described in our “Donation Request”.
